Everyone talks about AI replacing developers. Here's what actually happened to me. I had a CRM project. Started 2019, one developer, 80 commits/month. By summer 2024 - zero commits, at least a year left. Plugged in AI winter 2025. Done in 2 months. Then things got weird. Agents don't sleep. The flip: before AI, 80% coding and 20% thinking. Now 80% thinking, reviewing, deciding. Thinking 8 hours straight is way harder than coding. I didn't lose my job. I got the job of ten people. Nine of those are management, not development.
