I don’t think the weird blurry pixel-like textures are accidental. I think OpenAI is experimenting with watermarking AI-generated images. The textures don’t look noisy enough to me to be random. They look structured. Edit: I meant to say that ChatGPT’s new image generation looks like it’s using something like the QR code control net for Stable Diffusion to add metadata to indicate their images are AI generated. If that’s true they could be adding a ton of info about when it was made, who it was made by, session id, etc The image shown here was made with a QR code control net for stable diffusion (not my image by the way). Sorry for the misleading image.
